Bookings and cancellations
Booking: When you contact us directly to book a bed or room, we will usually ask what time you plan to arrive at the hostel. If you plan to arrive before 6.30pm, we will take your booking and hold the beds until then.
If you don’t know or plan to arrive after 6.30pm, we may ask you for your credit card details. We ask for these details to protect us from “no-shows”. These are people who book a room and don’t arrive or who cancel too late for the room to be re-let. The card details we look for are card type, card holder's name, card no. and expiry date. These details may be given to us by phone, fax or email. We only debit the card if the guest is a “no-show”. Credit card details are not seen by others.
If you don’t have a credit card or you don’t wish to reveal the details, then you can book online or send the money by bank transfer to the Jamaica Inn bank account. If you wish to do a bank transfer, we will send you our bank’s IBAN and BIC numbers.
Our cancellation policy: There is no charge if a person cancels up to 2 days before their arrival day. For example, if a guest is due to arrive on Friday, (s)he may cancel without charge up to 6pm Wednesday. If we are holding a deposit, we will refund it on the same day. If a guest cancels within this 2 day period or doesn’t show, we will charge the card for 1 nights stay.
Online booking cancellations: The online booking engines have their own cancellation policies.
